I hate to beat a dead, well a dead whatever, but it has been a longish winter on the east coast (AKA Fargo). I am tired of mud, snow and ice and I am ready for some spring shoes. I have found tons of flat sandals that are easy to love and have managed to find a few with a small heel or wedge.
For starters there is the espadrille. It’s a great launching point for spring, not too heavy, a wedge if you need one, but toes still covered on those chilly days (though not quite as chilly as the forecast calls for on the East Coast this week).
I absolutely adore this chic Louboutin striped espadrille. The Papi Hugo is just so nautical and fun!
Another espadrille option that fits almost every situation (I have them in almost every color and wear them constantly) is the J Crew Espadrille. The heel is the perfect height, the toe is just the right shape: not too round not too square.
