This week’s charity event is brought to you by Stacy Gatti, a dedicated volunteer, who serves as a Trustee for DFRC, Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities
I am honored to have the opportunity to share with the Bubblegum Chic readership about a very special event that has deep roots in our community and is very near and dear to my own heart. Holidazzle is a signature DFRC event that helps to raise funding and awareness for Delawareans with intellectual disABILITIES. In 1973, Bob Carpenter (one of the founders of DFRC) realized that, in order to continue to raise funding for these Delawareans, DFRC needed to develop yet another fundraising event. His daughter, Coo Carpenter Murray and a few friends answered this call and in 1974 Holidazzle was born.
In 2000, I was asked to model in the legendary Holidazzle fashion show at Longwood Gardens. Fourteen years later, I am lucky enough to still be involved with this incredible organization – DFRC – and its’ Holidazzle event.
This year’s event, which is being held at the Hercules Plaza in downtown Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, November 15th, promises to be another show stopper with ladies fashions from favorite boutiques such as Peter Kate, Ellie Boutique, and J. McLaughlin among many others and gentlemen’s attire from Artemis Outfitters and Trail Creek Outfitters and Wilmington Country Store.
One of the highlights of the event is the group of models assembled each year. This year offers yet again a long and distinguished list of nationally recognized business leaders to local Del-ebrities.
The atmosphere encourages you to ‘Mingle with the Models’ as you enjoy tempting treats from Toscana, as well as refreshing libations – including a new “twist” on last year’s favorite – “The Dazzle-tini.” Also new this year is an After Party at Toscana—with 25% of the proceeds going back to DFRC.
Please join us on Saturday, November 15 at 6:30pm
Tickets can be purchased here for $100/pp.
DFRC is dedicated to raising funds and consciousness in support of programs that enrich the lives of Delawareans with intellectual disABILITIES. Established in 1956, the private, nonprofit organization is dedicated to identifying and funding programs based on community need. DFRC has raised millions of dollars over the years through its signature fund raising events – the annual Blue-Gold All-Star Football Game, Holidazzle, the Blue-Gold All-Star Golf Classics, the Blue-Gold All★Star Run/Walk, and the DFRC Sussex County Auction. These events provide opportunities to promote understanding of people with intellectual disABILITIES.
