Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Order information — name, email, phone number, and shipping/billing address, collected at checkout through our payment processor, Stripe, so we can fulfill and ship your order.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe is PCI-compliant and processes payment on our behalf.
• Email list signups — if you choose to join our mailing list, your email (and name, if given) is stored with our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit), for sending occasional updates about drops and promotions. This is opt-in only.
• Site usage data — we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technology to collect anonymized/aggregated information about how visitors use our site (pages viewed, general location, device type) and basic shopping steps such as adding an item to the bag, starting checkout and completing a purchase. We use this to understand what's working, not to identify individual visitors.
• Saved bag — your bag contents are kept in your browser's local storage for up to 2 weeks so your bag doesn't empty if you refresh or come back later. This stays on your device.
• Hearts and "My fit" — pieces you heart, and any measurements you enter in "My fit," are saved only in your browser on your device. We never receive them.
• Order tracking — when you use the "track my order" form, the order number and email you enter are sent to our website only to look up that order. We don't save them for anything else.

How we use your information

• To process, prepare, ship, and provide status updates on your order (including transactional emails for order confirmation, shipping, and refunds, sent via our email provider Resend).
• To respond to questions or customer service requests.
• To send marketing emails only if you've opted in — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To understand overall site traffic and improve the shopping experience.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the shop, each of whom only receives what they need to do their job:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — sending order/shipping/refund emails
• Kit (ConvertKit) — our opt-in marketing email list
• Netlify — website hosting and order/inventory storage
• Google Analytics — aggregated site traffic analytics
• Pirate Ship and USPS — buying shipping labels and delivering your package (name, address and phone for shipped orders)

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bubblegum Chic or others.

Data retention

We keep order records for as long as needed for business, accounting, and tax purposes. If you'd like your information removed from our marketing list, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or contact us directly.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To ask what information we have on file about you, or to request it be deleted (where we're not required to keep it for legal/tax reasons), just email us — see contact info below.

Children's privacy

Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time as our shop or the tools we use change. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.

Terms of Sale

Our products

Bubblegum Chic sells vintage and secondhand Y2K clothing. Most items are one-of-a-kind or limited in quantity, and are sold in the condition described/photographed on the listing — please review photos and any condition or measurement notes carefully before purchasing, since vintage items may show natural signs of age or wear.

Pricing & payment

All prices are listed in US dollars. Sales tax, where required, is calculated and shown at checkout. Pieces that haven't sold may drop in price automatically ("last chance" pricing: 10% off after 3 weeks, 20% off after 6 weeks); price drops aren't applied to past orders. Pieces shown in our Sneak Peek can't be bought until the drop time shown with them. Discount codes work only between their start and end dates, take their percentage off full-price pieces (not pieces already reduced or mystery bundles), can't be combined with each other or with the Style Bundle discount (you get whichever saves more), may have a limited number of uses, and can be ended at any time. Payment is processed securely at checkout through Stripe. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to cancel/refund an order if an item turns out to be unavailable after purchase (for example, a rare double-sale of a one-of-a-kind item).

Shipping

We ship within the US and internationally by USPS, at the shipping rates shown in your bag before checkout. US orders of $50 or more (after discounts) ship free; Puerto Rico and Guam use US rates. Free local pickup is available at our Hawthorne, NJ store during posted hours, and we hold pickup orders for 3 weeks. International orders are the buyer's responsibility for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by the destination country — these are separate from our shipping charge and are not something we can predict or collect in advance.

Mystery bundles

Mystery bundles are hand-picked by us based on the size and vibe you choose. The exact pieces are a surprise, and like everything else in the shop they're vintage or secondhand and final sale.

All sales final

Because our items are one-of-a-kind secondhand pieces, all sales are final — we don't accept returns or exchanges for reasons like sizing or change of mind. That said, if your order arrives damaged, is significantly not as described, or gets lost in transit, please reach out — we handle those situations on a case-by-case basis and may issue a refund at our discretion.

Order changes & cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has started processing or shipped, we may not be able to make changes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
